Which Shopify apps still use script tags
On March 1, 2027 Shopify stops loading script tags, and apps that still use them disappear from storefronts. On October 30, 2026 we read the public pages of 262 Shopify stores, from small independent shops to well-known brands, and recorded how each app loads. This is what we found.
Moving to app embeds
Seen through script tags on some stores and through app embeds on others. The app embed exists: stores still on the script tag need to update the app and switch the embed on.

What this list can and cannot tell you
We read each store’s home page and one product page, the same pages any visitor sees. Shopify lists script tags in a loader on every page and marks app embeds and app blocks with comments, so each app shows how it loads. We name only apps we recognize from their files; unknown scripts are counted in the totals but not listed. An app counts once per store.
An app listed under script tags may already offer an app embed that its merchants have not switched on yet, and an app can load differently on pages we did not read. The list shows what stores run today, not what each developer has built.
To see your own store, use the free script tag checker. If you build one of the apps above, our script tag migration includes a package for app developers.
