Strategies and combinations
A strategy groups your promotions and decides the order they are checked in. Keep one strategy live and build the next one as a draft.

| Create strategy | Adds an empty strategy. |
| Configure | Opens the strategy to add, edit, hide and reorder promotions. |
| Open preview | Opens the Simulator for that strategy. |
| Activate / Pause | Makes the strategy live, or stops it. |
| Re-sync | Sends the current setup to Shopify again. Use it after many quick edits or if the store shows old offers. |
| Pause all | Stops every strategy at once. |
Keep a live strategy and a draft strategy. Build and test in the draft, then activate it when it is ready.
Configure a strategy
On Configure: [strategy name] you can:
- Drag promotions to change their priority. Promotions at the top are checked first.
- Edit or remove a promotion.
- Hide a promotion from the storefront with the eye icon. The discount still works; only the widget message is hidden.
- Set its Combinations.
- Save after reordering. The new order is applied only when it is saved.
Combinations
Each promotion chooses which discount classes it can stack with:
- Product discounts
- Order discounts
- Shipping discounts
Stacking works only when both promotions allow each other. For example, a free shipping promotion and an order promotion stack only if the shipping promotion allows order discounts and the order promotion allows shipping discounts. A promotion with no classes checked never stacks.
Do not let a free shipping promotion stack with another shipping discount.
The promotion window shows how many discounts it can currently combine with, and you can click through to each one.
