Install and set up
Most stores can launch their first promotion in a few minutes. Follow the steps in this order.
1. Install the app
- Open CartGift on the Shopify App Store and click Install.
- Approve the permissions. The app opens inside your Shopify admin.
2. Choose a plan
Go to Billing and pick a plan.

| Pro | Unlimited promotions, advanced targeting and combinations, automatic sync to Shopify Functions, 90-day analytics. |
Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial. When you move to a smaller plan, the app checks that your current setup fits the new plan first.
3. Create a strategy
- Go to Discount Strategies and click Create strategy.
- Click Configure and add at least one promotion. See Promotion types.
- Back on Discount Strategies, click Activate.
Important
Only one strategy is live at a time. Activating a strategy pauses the others.
4. Turn on the storefront widgets
In Online Store › Themes › Customize, add the CartGift app blocks you need: the cart drawer bar, the cart page widget and the product page block. Then match them to your store in Branding. See Storefront widgets and branding.
5. Test before you launch
- Open Simulator and try low, medium and high cart totals.
- Add products to a real cart in your store and check the widgets.
- Place one test order and check that it appears in Analytics.
Note
Shopify applies the most valuable eligible discount at checkout. A discount you created in Shopify admin › Discounts can replace a CartGift discount if it is worth more.
